Collection: Carrara
Colour: Light beige
Material: Velvet
Fabric: Bluvel 22
Abrasion resistance (Martindale): 100,000
Fabric composition: This is a synthetic fabric that mimics velvet with a delicate sheen. The perfect choice for elegant furniture designs. It has very good abrasion resistance, which significantly reduces the risk of damage (Martindale test 50,000, 320 g/m²). The material is extremely soft and feels silky. The fabric has passed the cigarette test, meaning the upholstery system is resistant to smouldering and flaming and meets the standard PN-EN 1021-1:2014-12.
Care instructions: Furniture upholstered with velvet fabric should be cleaned every one to two weeks. Gently brush the fabric in one direction using a soft brush or sponge. This removes dust and dirt without allowing them to penetrate deeper into the fabric. Brushing also raises the pile and prevents the so-called "crushing" effect, i.e., the flattening of the fibres in areas where one sits or leans most frequently.
The velvet upholstery should be thoroughly refreshed 1–2 times a year. Gently wipe the entire fabric with a damp solution of a neutral cleaning agent, e.g., washing-up liquid and water. Then, wipe over with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove detergent residue. Allow the fabric to air dry.
You can also use special upholstery cleaners for fabrics, such as foam, shampoo, or spray. In doing so, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
In case of stains or spilled liquids, gently blot the liquid with a dry cloth or paper towel. To remove dirt from mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yoghurt, or lipstick, carefully lift off the residue of the substance.
To clean the sofa, use mild, neutral cleaning agents such as washing-up liquid or mild soap mixed with lukewarm water in a ratio of one teaspoon of detergent to two cups of water. Strong cleaners and bleach can damage the upholstery. To avoid this, test the cleaning agent on an inconspicuous part of the furniture and wait 15 minutes.
Vacuum the fabric carefully before wet cleaning to remove surface dirt, so that it does not penetrate deeper into the material.
Clean the soiled area slowly and gently with circular motions from the outer edge of the stain towards the centre, trying to lift the dirt out from between the fibres.
Avoid vigorous and heavy rubbing to ensure the velvet pile is not damaged.
Repeat the cleaning process if necessary, extending the cleaned area around the stain.
Apply the cleaning solution in thin layers and remove excess solution immediately. If too much cleaning solution soaks into the fabric, it can become hard.
After cleaning, wipe the treated area thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and avoid water marks.
Do not use hot water to remove stains, especially organic ones, as this can cause the stains to set.
After removing the stain, allow the fabric to air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct heat source. Do not sit on the sofa during this time, as the upholstery may deform.
