Collection: Carrara
Colour: Light beige
Material: Velvet
Fabric: Bluvel 22
Abrasion resistance (Martindale): 100,000
Fabric composition: This is a synthetic fabric that imitates velvet with a delicate sheen. The perfect choice for elegant furniture designs. It has very good abrasion resistance, which significantly reduces the risk of damage (Martindale test 50,000, 320 g/m²). The material is extremely soft and feels silky to the touch. The fabric has passed the cigarette test, meaning the upholstery system is resistant to smouldering and flaming and complies with the PN-EN 1021-1:2014-12 standard.
Care instructions: Furniture upholstered in velvet fabric should be cleaned every one to two weeks. Gently brush the fabric in one direction using a soft brush or sponge. This removes dust and dirt without allowing it to penetrate deeper into the fabric. Brushing also raises the pile and prevents the so-called "crushing" effect, i.e., the flattening of the fibres in areas where you sit or lean most often.
The velvet cover should be thoroughly refreshed once or twice a year. Gently wipe the entire fabric with a damp solution of a neutral detergent, e.g., washing-up liquid and water. Then wipe over with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove any detergent residue. Allow the fabric to air dry.
You can also use special upholstery cleaners for fabrics, e.g., foam, shampoo, or spray. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
For stains or spills, gently blot the liquid with a dry cloth or paper towel. To remove dirt such as mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yoghurt, or lipstick, gently pick up the residue of the substance.
To clean the sofa, use mild, neutral cleaning agents such as washing-up liquid or mild soap mixed with lukewarm water in a ratio of one teaspoon of detergent to two cups of water. Strong cleaners and bleach can damage the cover. To avoid this, test the cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area of the furniture and wait 15 minutes.
Vacuum the fabric gently before wet cleaning to remove surface dirt so that it does not penetrate deeper into the material.
Clean the soiled area slowly and gently using circular motions from the outer edge of the stain towards the centre, trying to loosen the dirt between the fibres.
Avoid vigorous and heavy rubbing so as not to damage the pile of the velvet.
Repeat the cleaning process if necessary, increasing the cleaned area around the stain.
Apply the cleaning solution in thin layers and remove any excess immediately. If too much cleaning solution soaks into the fabric, it can become hard.
After cleaning, wipe the treated area thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and avoid water marks.
Do not use hot water to remove stains, especially organic ones, as this can set the stains.
After removing the stain, allow the fabric to air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct heat source. Do not sit on the sofa during this time, as the cover may lose its shape.
