Collection: Livorno
Color: Light beige
Material: Velvet
Fabric: Bluvel 22
Abrasion resistance (Martindale): 100,000
Fabric composition: This is a synthetic fabric that imitates velvet with a delicate sheen. The perfect choice for elegant furniture designs. It has a very good abrasion resistance, which significantly reduces the risk of damage (Martindale test 50,000, 320 g/m²). The material is extremely soft and feels silky to the touch. The fabric has passed the cigarette test, meaning the upholstery system is resistant to smoldering and ignition and meets the standard PN-EN 1021-1:2014-12.
Care instructions: Furniture upholstered with velvet fabric should be cleaned every one to two weeks. Gently brush the fabric in one direction using a soft brush or sponge. This removes dust and dirt without allowing it to penetrate deeper into the fabric. Brushing also raises the pile and prevents the so-called "crushing" effect, i.e., the flattening of fibers in areas where people sit or lean most often.
The velvet cover should be thoroughly refreshed 1–2 times a year. Gently wipe the entire fabric with a damp solution of a neutral detergent, such as dish soap and water. Afterwards, wipe with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove any detergent residue. Let the fabric air dry.
You can also use special upholstery cleaners for fabrics, such as foam, shampoo, or spray. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
In case of stains or spills, gently blot the liquid with a dry cloth or paper towel. To remove dirt from mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yogurt, or lipstick, gently pick up the remains of the substance.
To clean the sofa, use mild, neutral detergents such as dish soap or mild soap mixed with lukewarm water at a ratio of one teaspoon of detergent per two cups of water. Strong cleaners and bleach can damage the cover. To avoid this, test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the furniture and wait 15 minutes.
Carefully vacuum the fabric before wet cleaning to remove surface dirt so that it does not penetrate deeper into the material.
Clean the soiled area slowly and gently using circular motions from the outer edge of the stain toward the center, attempting to lift the dirt out from between the fibers.
Avoid vigorous or strong rubbing to ensure the velvet's pile is not damaged.
Repeat the cleaning process if necessary, expanding the cleaned area around the stain.
Apply the cleaning solution in thin layers and remove excess solution immediately. If too much cleaning solution seeps into the fabric, it can become stiff.
After cleaning, thoroughly wipe the treated area with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and prevent water rings.
Do not use hot water for removing stains, especially organic ones, as this can set the stains.
After removing the stain, let the fabric air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct heat source. Do not sit on the sofa during this time, as the cover may lose its shape.
