Collection: Carrara
Colour: Light beige
Material: Velvet
Fabric: Bluvel 22
Abrasion resistance (Martindale): 100,000
Fabric composition: This is a synthetic fabric that imitates velvet with a delicate sheen. It is the perfect choice for elegant furniture designs. It has very good abrasion resistance, which significantly reduces the risk of damage (Martindale test 50,000, 320 g/m²). The material is extremely soft and feels silky to the touch. The fabric has passed the cigarette test, meaning the upholstery system is resistant to smouldering and flaming and complies with the PN-EN 1021-1:2014-12 standard.
Care instructions: Furniture upholstered with velvet fabric should be cleaned every one to two weeks. Gently brush the fabric in one direction with a soft brush or sponge. This removes dust and dirt without it penetrating deeper into the fabric. Brushing also raises the pile and prevents the so-called "crushing" effect, i.e., the flattening of fibres in places where you sit or lean most often.
The velvet cover should be thoroughly refreshed 1–2 times a year. Gently wipe the entire fabric with a damp solution of a neutral detergent, e.g., washing-up liquid with water. Then wipe with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove any detergent residue. Allow the fabric to air dry.
You can also use special upholstery cleaners for fabrics, such as foam, shampoo, or spray. Follow the manufacturer's instructions when doing so.
In case of stains or spills, gently dab the liquid with a dry cloth or paper towel. To remove dirt from mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yoghurt, or lipstick, gently lift the remains of the substance.
Use mild, neutral detergents such as washing-up liquid or mild soap mixed with lukewarm water in a ratio of one teaspoon of detergent to two cups of water to clean the sofa. Strong cleaners and bleach can damage the cover. To avoid this, test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the furniture and wait 15 minutes.
Vacuum the fabric gently before wet cleaning to remove surface dirt so that it does not penetrate deeper into the material.
Clean the soiled area slowly and gently using circular motions from the outer edge of the stain towards the centre and try to loosen the dirt between the fibres.
Avoid vigorous and heavy rubbing to prevent damaging the velvet pile.
Repeat the cleaning process if necessary, increasing the area cleaned around the stain.
Apply the cleaning solution in thin layers and remove excess solution immediately. If too much cleaning solution soaks into the fabric, it can become stiff.
After cleaning, wipe the treated area thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution and avoid water marks.
Do not use hot water to remove stains, especially organic ones, as this can cause the stains to set.
After removing the stain, allow the fabric to air dry at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer or any other direct heat source. Do not sit on the sofa during this time, as the cover may deform.
